The rising water level of the Prek Tnaot River caused flooding to residents in Daun Kok and Anlong Svay, Sangkat Boeung Thom, Khan Kampoul, and Phnom Penh villages. According to local authorities, the floods inundated about 210 families and affected 135 hectares of rice fields in five villages.

On 27 September 2021, a severe flood hit the Chaiyaphum Province, Thailand. There have been 10 000 households flooded, mostly in Muang, Bamnet Narong, and Chaturat districts, after overflows from the Chi River and the Lam Khan Chu reservoir dam. In Bamnet Narong, about 3,000 houses in 23 villages were flooded, and villagers reported that it was the most severe flooding in 100 years. In the Muang district, the entire business area was inundated. The water level was 50 centimeters to 2 meters deep, leaving nearly 25 communities inundated.

In 2021, Vietnam experienced severe floods due to heavy rainfall from 26 November 2021. The Vietnam Disaster management Agency (VDMA) reported 18 fatalities or missing across the provinces of Binh Dinh (03), Phu Yen (10), Khanh Hoa (02), Kon Tum (01), and Dak Lak (02). Furthermore, almost 60,000 houses have flooded Binh Dinh (31,100) and Phu Yen (28,639). Some areas of Tuy Phuoc District in Binh Dinh Province were under water up to 1.2 meters deep. Around 66,000 students in the province could not attend school due to the floods. Over 6,000 households have been evacuated due to floods or landslides in the provinces of Quang Nam (53 households), Binh Dinh (439), Phu Yen (5,517), and Khanh Hoa (21).
